Strictly Come Dancing 2015: how to get tickets With the 13th series of Strictly about to start, here's how to get tickets to the most dazzling dancefloor of them all

With co-host Tess Daly on Strictly Come DancingThe 13th series of Strictly Come Dancing is almost upon us – have you met this year's contestants? And this year is definitely the year that you will finally get tickets. Definitely.
Well, maybe not. But we can at least tell you how to apply, and what you can expect from the day if you're lucky enough to get in.
From the application process to what to do (or not do) on the day, here's everything you need to know about getting tickets to Strictly Come Dancing
.

How can I get tickets to the Strictly Come Dancing premiere shows?

You can't, as bad luck would have it. Applications for both shows have closed, so you'll have to watch the BBC's introduction to this year's crop of stars from the comfort of your sofa.
Here's what you missed: the BBC are holding a glamorous red carpet event to introduce their new dancers, followed by the premiere show the next day in which each celebrity finds out their dancing partner (romance ahoy? Yes please), and together they perform the first group dance of the series.
While those options are over and done with, you can still enter the random ballot for the main run. If you had won tickets to the premiere studio show, you would not have been eligible to enter the main ballot, so there is a bright side after all.

How can I get tickets for the main series of Strictly?

To make sure you hear first, join their mailing list and select "Entertainment" as one of your options. The BBC will inform newsletter subscribers as soon as tickets become available.
In previous years, entrants have been allowed to apply for as many dates as they liked, but would only receive tickets for one non-transferrable date.
You can apply for a maximum of two tickets per household, and multiple applications for the same date will be deleted. Lucky balloteers will only find out if they have been successful when they receive their tickets.

What happens on the day?

The show that you see being filmed will fit in both Saturday and Sunday's programmes into one session, so prepare to be there for a long time!
Unfortunately, you can't just rest on your laurels once you have won your tickets – this is an excellent report about what it's like to be in the audience. The BBC will allocate about 800 tickets for 400 public seats, with another 400 tickets allocated to guests and VIPs.
You will need to get your ticket validated at noon, which then guarantees you entry. If you don't arrive early, you may turn up to find hundreds of people in front of you, and little to no chance of getting into the studio.
After validation, you can leave in order to have lunch and get changed, but you will need to return later in the afternoon in order to queue again, this time in a marquee to get into the studios.

Is there a Strictly dress code?

No jeans, please. People do make an effort: ball gowns aren't only seen on the dancefloor.

Can I take my phone?

No, your bag will be checked on entry. Mobile phones will be taken away and you will have to queue to get yours back after the show.

Any other advice?

There are no loos at the studio and you will be in there for at least six hours, so don't drink too much beforehand, and make sure you visit the facilities before going in!
You will also be asked not to post anything on social media until the results go out on Sunday, so do abide by the "Strictly Oath".
And have fun! You're at the glitteriest, happiest place in television.
